DIAMONDS.COM Position on Conflict Diamonds
In an effort to prevent the exportation of illegally mined diamonds, the global diamond industry has partnered with the United Nations, governments, and non-government organizations in implementing the Kimberley Process, which is an international process to track and certify diamonds from the mine to market.
DIAMONDS.COM supports the Kimberley Process. All DIAMONDS.COM diamonds are warranted to be conflict free. We require all suppliers to adhere to the standards and/or requirements set forth in the Kimberley Process. Should one of our suppliers ever be found in violation of these standards, we would cease business relationships with them immediately.
Overview of the Kimberley Process
The Kimberley Process, introduced in January 2003, has two important elements --the Kimberley Process Certification which is an international system of certification of all import and export of rough diamonds, and the Diamond Industry System of Warranties, which legally obligates members of the diamond industry to provide a written warranty on all invoices for rough diamonds, polished diamonds, and diamond jewelry stating that the diamonds are non-conflict.
